WW Weekly Topic: Keep the Carbs & Still Lose Weight

It is possible to eat carbs and lose weight. The key is to become carb savvy, choosing the healthier varieties more often than not. let the WW SmartPoints system guide you toward the healthier options, which are lower in sugar and enjoy the higher sugar ones in moderation. The WW ZeroPoints food list is a great place to start. On it you’ll find nutrient rich options including fruit, vegetables, and legumes like peas and beans. Experiment with making smart swaps and substitutions like cucumber slices instead of crackers, bell pepper slices instead of corn chips, sugar free apple “cookie slices” for cookies, and “frozen banana ice cream” for the regular kind.

In the past few years my reason for wanting to live a happy, healthy balanced life has shifted. I’m much more concerned with aging well. My mantra has become, “I’m growing old gracefully and vibrantly.” This is How to Age with Elegance sums it up beautifully.

As I look for ways to use up the last of our garden zucchini these recipes grabbed my attention:

  • Creamy 5-Ingredient Zucchini Soup
  • Skillet Zucchini Parmesan
  • Zucchini Pepperoni Pizza
  • Buffalo Chicken Stuffed Zucchini
  • Parmesan Zucchini Rounds

A long time lover of stuffed shells, I can wait to try this version of Pumpkin & Sausage Stuffed Shells.

This Buffalo Chicken Dip with  zero Smart Points per serving on WW Freestyle is on my list the next time I need an easy party appetizer.

This Wild Rice Salad with Acorn Squash is exactly the kind of fall food I love.

I had just had the thought that I hadn’t had white chicken chili in a while when this Instant Pot White Chicken Chili appeared on my radar.

Looking for a super simple soup with minimal ingredients, this 5-ingredient carrot soup caught my attention. After making it this week, it’s now going to be part of my regular rotation. To make it even easier and avoid added fat I just boiled everything together until tender and then pureed in my blender until smooth.

Have a wonderful weekend!
