  1. I think we should address here the fact that in Asia (specially in Japan), the rice is washed over and over again in order to get rid off the starch, thus turning the GI into something way lower than the value of the raw one suggest. Otherwise they would have been fatter long time ago.

  12. To get rid of the arsenic in brown rice you need to soak or sprout it. He didn't mention that.

    Would you allow/recommend WHITE RICE to me IF?
    1. My BMI is 18 and I am not trying to lose any weight
    2. White rice does not contain arsenic
    3. White rice does not contain phytates and I can consume IB6 supplement
    4. If I take White rice with Nutritional yeast (for B vitamins)
    Please guide me if white rice is OK to consume is specifically my case.

  14. Am I nuts to expect nutrition experts to include a discussion of sprouted brown rice when discussing the pros and cons of rice consumption? To me, it's like discussing the health consequences of consuming grain-fed beef, while ignoring the benefits of grass-fed beef consumption. I think I prefer no story at all to a misleading half story.

  15. What about parboiled? It's only 30gi, has less antinutrients but still has fiber, less arsenic too.

  16. the chinese/asians have been eating rice for generation and they have no problem in what you preaching…and another thing I've noticed is that Asians lived longer thn any race in the world.

  17. Hi dr berg, can you please talk about the reason why i have headache and weak in all my body between the time of 16 to 18 hour of fasting then i get the energy back after that time ( i have been doing OMAD and keto for more than one year. Thanks so much

  18. So if you avoid both, what can you eat? I will continue to eat a moderate amount of brown rice once a day.
