Dr. Berg talks about keto and dairy. The ketogenic diet requires you keep your carb low and especially sugars down to zero.

Yogurts are out – because they contains lots of sugar, even the plain has 10 grams of sugar. Milk is pretty high – 12 grams sugar, but cheese, certain cheeses are zero sugars, but in general cheese is okay because it has very low sugar except for processed cheese, which is crazy high – 19 grams. Half and half is fairly low and whole cream is even better.

  1. i do yoghurt and full cream while in ketosis and all is fine and never felt better .. stop telling people what to eat and what not to eat .. as long as you count your carbs and notice gi and glycemic load you are completely fine

  2. I just had my first keto meal. Breakfast + a tall glass (400ml) of whole milk. I then realized that it says 4.6g of sugar per 100ml on my label. I suppose it's normal cause lactose is a sugar, but is this as bad as fructose? Does it matter what kind of sugar when it comes to ketosis or "a carb is a carb" (when it comes to ketosis) ?

  4. raw butter and fermented raw dairy (kefir, sour cream..) are perfect keto Foods. other than These, dairy is horrible

  5. calling yourself a doctor and not going off calories from sugar really should disqualify you. lactose is not the same as sucrose. sucrose is worse. glycemic index wise

  6. Aww… When I saw you were using grams, I was so happy! Then you say "this is per 8 oz., or per cup", and as a European I immediately fell off :') Stick to the metrics!

  7. I tried keto several times and it made me feel so horrible. I leaned heavy on dairy and I don’t do well on dairy. I am thinking about going on keto again and eliminating dairy completely. Just hard to do because it’s so high in the fat you need in keto!
